About

Mon Valley Wellness is built on the principle of Individual Responsibility, and the belief that ‘Strong Individuals Make a Strong Society.

2005 – B.A Psychology, Youngstown State University, 2008 – M.S. Ed Counseling, Youngstown State University

Since 2006, I have worked with children, teens, adults, and families, in a variety of settings and levels of care. I offer both in-office and virtual sessions. I find a joy in helping men build confidence and self worth, create identity and goals, and repair the damages caused by absent fathering.

My main approaches are cognitive and trauma therapies. I have much to teach my clients about thoughts, emotions, healthy coping, and recognizing their own reactions…regardless of what brings them to counseling. Our thoughts, our beliefs, and even our inner voice strongly shape our emotions. When unfortunate events happen in our lives, we try our best to make sense of these events and what our lives have now become. As we adjust our thoughts and beliefs, our emotions have to follow.

Most people don’t come to counseling because they just won the lottery. It’s okay if bad things have recently happened in your life or if they happened in years past.

Testimonials

“Mr. Wagner was incredibly professional, patient, and provided timely and relevant feedback during our sessions. Mr. Wagner’s attention to the words used during our sessions helped direct me to thinking outside the box, looking deeper within myself than I had previously been able to do. After years of therapy, in the spring of 2024 I felt confident in my abilities to handle situations without continuing our sessions. Mr. Wagner was incredibly professional when I brought this up in conversation, first congratulating me on my success before reminding me that he would be available in the future if needed.” – S.S., client for 3 years

“I enjoyed the relationship, challenges to work through, and services you provided in helping work through some things that initially were piling up from years past-self esteem, purpose, childhood baggage, relationship issues, and some anger regulation.” – G.K., client for 1 year

“I started seeing Kyle in Spring of 2021. The main reasons I sought out counseling were stress management and social anxiety. Other goals of mine that came up were working through anxieties related to speech and driving, and grieving the loss of my grandfather. When I had my first day of counseling it was hard, I barely talked the first day. It was not easy to make the call or have my first appt. Now that I did it though, it was the most rewarding experience. I would highly recommend Kyle as a counselor. Within my time of counseling I feel I accomplished everything I wanted to.” – L.G., client for 3.5 years
